A fan blows towards an early 20th century wardrobe, enlivening the veneer that has peeled away from the wood. The constant air stream that enwraps the closet animates the skin whilst revealing the flesh underneath. Finding beauty in unexpected places, JAMESPLUMB propose a moving reflection about decline and mortality with a simple yet evocative assemblage of objects from the everyday.
And. Breathe is exhibited in ‘Room #11’ of Kewenig’s monthly rotating exhibition programme ‘12 Rooms’ which occupies the enclosed space between the gallery and the adjacent building. Focusing on condensed solo presentations, it allows the examination of historical works further in depth, and also regularly offers a platform for young talents. 12 Rooms exhibitors have included Giovanni Anselmo, William Kentridge, Nan Goldin, Jannis Kounellis & Christian Boltanksi amongst others.
Room #11 can be viewed until 10th December 2021 at Kewenig Galerie.
